What's In that Bag?

Husband took me out shopping & we picked up a few small things.
He has this new cologne...Sigh. Smell good. Majorly Manly! LOL

Anywhoo...Can you guess what's in my bag? Answer given here.

Eat or Send it Back?

Say you ordered something you've never tried before at a fancy restaurant or even a "not-so-fancy" restaurant...The server brings it to you, you taste it, and discover that you don't like it. It's not inedible or cooked improperly; you just don't like the flavor/taste.

Do you send it back? Or, do you try to eat it?
Is there an etiquette to follow in regards to this???

This delightful, disk shaped flat bread goes by many names, but they're always just pancakes to me. Although, I do like the sound of the word flapjacks!

More Cheese-less Romance.

The Confessions of Max Tivoli, Book
Sweet & sad!!! It's a love story about a man who ages backwards.
For instance, in the first few chapters he is really a 10 year old boy, but externally looks like a 60 year old man.

Soaps & I Can't...Forget New Jersey.

Growing up, I'd come home from school, drink coffee & watch soap operas with my siblings. I suppose this was my moms way of letting us unwind a bit before getting to our homework. I remember All My Children, One Life to Live, and General Hospital the most. Not sure how I watched most of these, as they came on in the early afternoon (these were the days before you could record TV, less you had a VCR. LOL). Must of had a half day or something. Anywhoo...

This song plays. The sun is shining.
I have no allergies & there are are no bees.

5 Days & No "Juice": A Mini "Off Me Meds" Update.

It's been 5 days since I've had a cup of coffee. I only miss it when I think about it...like Now. Initially I thought, maybe it's just a hot beverage that I truly want. So, I tried drinking some tea, with honey & lemon. Not bad, but doesn't compare to the "Juice"!

I stop using Half & Half and bought some 2% milk, but haven't been successful in cutting back on eating cheese. I'm so bad, sometimes I eat it straight out of the pre-shredded package!

The Pursuit of Happyness, Movie
A heartwarming film that demonstrates how good, hard-working people can become homeless almost overnight, Pursuit of Happyness is a tour-de-force showcase for Will Smith, who convincingly portrays a down-and-out dad trying to better his family's life. -Amazon
I can't imagine anyone watching this with dry eyes. Seeing Will Smith cry, always seems to bring me to tears. Very inspirational movie!

What IS the Question?

Exam, Movie
Like Saw for corporate go-getters, in EXAM eight young people vying for a sought-after job are locked together in a room and given one hour to finish their exam. But the exam is a blank piece of paper and the eight candidates soon realize their only competition isn't a Q&A but each other.  -Amazon.com
Husband picked this one to watch on Netflix (streaming).
It was pretty good!

Beverages: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner.

With lunch and dinner, I have (thus far) successfully gave up the soda.
I drink water instead, sometimes a cup of orange juice with lunch.
With breakfast, I drink coffee. 1-2 cups, every day. Sometimes, but rarely 3. This third cup only happens when I'm in a groove & the 2 cups prior were excellently executed a la the "pour over" method.

Have you tried coffee this way??? Smooth & delicious!

Anywhoo...I've typed all about my love for this drink before; and now, I find myself at a crossroads.

Easy Homemade Pizza: Preparing.

So, it's been at least a day since you've made the dough and it's been out of the refrigerator now for about 2 hours.

Now comes the fun part...the toppings!
• Shred some fresh mozzarella cheese or buy the already pre-shredded packages.
• Slice or dice fresh tomatoes, mushrooms, onions, or green bell pepper.
• Cook some Italian sausage.
• Place pepperoni slices between a few sheets of paper towel and nuke in the microwave for a few seconds to release some of the oil.
The possibilities are virtually endless, but please note to go easy on the amount that you put on. Too much can weigh down the crust and it won't cook evenly. Also the water content from most toppings can make the crust soggy. Time to make the pizza...

Preparing For the Major Cut: A walk down Memory Mane.

Beanies & beret hats.
Cute hair pins.
Staple products.
Hair scissor.
Pretty hair bands.
Large earrings.
I even considered buying makeup (i.e., foundation; but that's another story)...

Eight months had past since my last relaxer touch up.
I researched, heavily, online about what to do.

June 2010, I had everything in place, but my feelings.

Leisurely Baby Steps.

I went for two walks around the neighborhood, this week.
I didn't time them & I didn't walk at any particular pace.

I breathed in the pleasant air of the afternoon. One day it was cloudy. The other, it was sunny & niice! 50-60 degree temps both days. Not very normal for March, around these parts.

I said hello to a couple of my neighbors (one of which, kindly complimented me on my hair), and smiled at an older woman who was also out for some exercise. She didn't smile back though...her walk looked waayyy more focused than mines.

The Tangle Teezer on: Dry Hair. Moisturized Hair...& Wet Hair too.

There is currently a lot of buzz online about this brush, the Tangle Teezer. After receiving the idea to review it from a dear subscriber, I tested this brush out on my hair.

I should mention that I rarely brush my hair, but if there's one process I'd like to improve & get through faster in my hair regimen, it's detangling!

Water for Welch's. Will it work?

Welch's Grape Soda. Sigh.
Sigh...Huff.
Sigh.

Where to start?!
Okay.
This is the soda, dreams are truly made of!!! My throat is getting parched just thinking about, how Husband polished off our last 2 liter, yesterday evening; while I sipped slowly on my glass of water.
We loovvve Welch's Grape Soda (especially with a slice of homemade pizza), but recently decided to kick this beverage, in our efforts to drink more water.

We tried this once before, but went through some major withdrawals & relapsed.
Hopefully this time, we'll do better.

Hair: Products & Regimen ~ UPDATED.

For nearly a year now, if not over a year; I've used Jane Carter hair products.
I love most of them because they give my hair an amazing shine, without feeling like my hair is being weighed down by product, and they smell absolutely wonderful! The shampoo, conditioners, and Nourish and shine all smell so lovely; very fresh & clean!
The scalp products on the other hand, smell like oils...slightly herbal/medicinal.

Light Lunch.

I was inspired by this post, to have a simple green salad with my turkey sandwich, instead of Lays Carolina BBQ potato chips (Darn those chips are tasty! Aren't they?). I made a simple lemon vinaigrette to dress it.

After lunch, I have to say, I felt good!

Getting off me Meds.

Acne creams & lotions. I've been using them for the past 4 years, and finally decided to stop.
They've worked very well for me, but I'm so tired of having to use them. I want to be able to wash my face, put on moisturizer/SPF, and go!

I've never had acne in my teens, so imagine my shock when my dermatologist told me I had a "common" thing called Adult Acne.
Why now? I thought.
Why me? I thought.

Because your skin is fickle.
An answer came...from somewhere.

Madmen, TV

• Don makes me so mad, but darn it; if he isn't charismatic...majorly charismatic.
• Betty makes me so mad as well, for her "great patience" in regards to Don; but, I try to keep in mind the times/setting of the show.
• Pete is hilarious, without even making a joke.
• Peggy makes me root for her.
• Joan. Womanly Glam!
• Roger. Funny Stud! I like the looks of all gray hair & can't wait to one day see it on myself, as well as Husband.

I love this show!!!

PS
Dear Netflix, Will you please send the remainder of season 4?! We've been waiting for months...MONTHS! Thank you!
