Eat or Send it Back?

Say you ordered something you've never tried before at a fancy restaurant or even a "not-so-fancy" restaurant...The server brings it to you, you taste it, and discover that you don't like it. It's not inedible or cooked improperly; you just don't like the flavor/taste.

Do you send it back? Or, do you try to eat it?
Is there an etiquette to follow in regards to this???

I am going to agree with socialitedreams. You can be tactful when sending something back. After all, the customer is always right, right? :)

I'd just keep it, eat a little, and fill myself on whatever sides it came with, or bread lol

Socialite: Niice...I may borrow these words from your Mom:)

Najadee: Yes! They say the customer is always right, but some waiters/waitresses take the plate away & give you the side-eye from the kitchen...or, so it feels like. LOL

LaNeshe: I do this too sometimes, especially when I'm out with other people & don't want to wait for the kitchen to prepare me another entree. By the time they bring it out, everyone else is done eating:( LOL

I'd try to eat it. I just treat the situation as if I were at an acquaintances home. I wouldn't want to waste their food, nor time, so the same goes for a restaurant. Plus I always fear they'll spit in my food if I send it back. :-s
